Company History |
Empire Fibreglass Products, Inc. got it’s start from A. Neil Baum (Little Falls, NY) and his passion for fishing. Being the avid fisherman that he was, he desired to build a fishing boat that was both lighter than wood and quieter than aluminum. Mr. Baum, along with two friends, began experimenting and designing the ideal fishing boat constructed completely out of fiberglass in 1954. Even though the commercial fiberglass industry was at a low, they realized the ideal properties and possibilities of the material. Before long, Mr. Baum and his friends began to build boats and sell them commercially as the Diamond Boat Company Incorporated. After a few years, the market began to change and Diamond Boat Company did as well. After its close, however, Mr. Baum did not end his ventures in fiberglass. He recognized the new market opportunities and started Empire Fibreglass Company in Little Falls, New York. |
Since 1961, Empire Fibreglass Products, Inc. has prided itself in custom fabricating and manufacturing fiberglass storage tanks, duct and exhaust systems and has expanded into specialty vessels, Strongwell pultruded products distribution as well as assembly of the same, gel coated products, field work, aquaculture tanks, and novelty products.
